Cole fka Buddy is a sweet, affectionate, pocket size, 42 lb, 1-year-old “honorary boxer” mix who is looking for a patient, loving forever home 🏡💛 He is playful, energetic & MUST have FENCED-IN YARD, where he can safely run, play, and burn off his puppy energy 🌳🎾🐶
He is great with other dogs 🐕🐾 and has been living with another pup in his foster home — they love to play together! 🥰 He’s also doing well around cats 🐱💕
Cole is treat-motivated 🍪, loves food 🍽️, and already knows how to sit for meals ✅ & learned to play with toys 🧸 He has made progress since coming into rescue, but he will still need continued training 🐾📚 He can get jumpy (and sometimes scratch), and he’s still working on potty training 🚽 (currently about 40%). He does best with a consistent routine 📅 and someone who can keep building his confidence 💪💙
On leash, he can be very timid 🦮 He is usually fine, but if something scares him (especially loud outside noises like cars 🚗💨), he may stop walking or want to hide and head back home. Because of his background, he may be cautious with some men at first, so he needs more time & patience to accept as one of the family ❤️🩹🐾 Once he feels safe, Cole is incredibly loving and enjoys cuddling 🥰🤗
He is crate trained ✅ and does best when crated at night 🌙 or when left alone, since he can be a curious chewer 😅🦴 He loves safe chew toys like antlers or Kong toys 🧸🦴 (no rope toys please — he can destroy small toys quickly! 🙈)
Cole / Buddy’s story is a sad one 😢 — he was previously living as a stray alongside a homeless person, and when that person left, he was left behind all alone 💔 Despite that, he is a sweet pup 🐶💙 who just wants stability, love, and a home of his own 🏡
