CBR is a 501 (c)(3) organization. We are dependent on the generosity of our supporters which allows CBR to rescue and provide proper care for boxers in need. Adoption fees rarely cover the actual medical costs involved to ensure a dog is healthy and ready for adoption.

Many of the dogs that come into our rescue have not been well cared for previously. Our initial medical expenses for any boxer taken into our rescue typically consists of the initial vet exam, vaccinations, bloodwork, spay/neuter if needed, microchip, testing for internal parasites and heartworm disease, dewormers, medications, and x-rays or ultrasounds when needed. We spend THOUSANDS of dollars every year treating heartworm disease alone. Some of our rescued dogs also require the care of a veterinary specialist; such as ophthalmologists, cardiologists or orthopedic surgeons. There are times when we have to reach out and hire a professional trainer to help provide extra guidance to some of our foster dogs.
